Project Experience

Virkemiddel Application

The Virkemiddel Application is a low-code solution developed to manage master data related to various instruments at Enova. The project aimed to streamline the administration and processing of data for these instruments while ensuring the application remained user-friendly and easy to update.

Project Description and Execution:

I collaborated closely with developers and the marketing department to design, test, and implement solutions for the application. My responsibilities included generating user insights through interviews and workshops with relevant stakeholders. Based on user feedback, I then designed solutions and tested them within the low-code platform Power Apps. This platform allowed for rapid iterations and adjustments without extensive coding, making it possible to implement changes efficiently. The project was carried out using agile methods with a dedicated Scrum Master, and the team succeeded in implementing insights from user testing.

Achieved Results:

👩‍💻 An intuitive and user-friendly application for the organization.

📊 Simplified management and utilization of master data across systems.

📈 Increased efficiency in collaboration between departments for document handling and planning of instruments.

Customer Front, Design System

Customer Front was an interdisciplinary team at Enova, consisting of employees from digital transformation, marketing, and communications, responsible for all customer interactions. This project established a design system to ensure unified and consistent implementation of design principles across all digital platforms, including websites and internal systems.

Project Description and Execution:

I was responsible for ensuring that design principles and patterns were consistently implemented across all digital platforms within the Customer Front team. I led the initiative to create a dedicated design system, incorporating both Digdir’s public design system and custom components for Enova. I outlined components in Figma and worked closely with developers to ensure the system was implemented correctly. Through regular user testing and iteration, I ensured the design system met users’ needs and adhered to universal accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).

Goals:

  • Develop a centralized design system serving as a common source of design principles and components across Enova's digital platforms.

  • Ensure a cohesive user experience across all systems through a consistent visual language and universal accessibility (WCAG 2.1).

  • Reduce development time for new features, allowing developers to reuse established design components instead of building from scratch.

Outcomes:

♿️ Increased understanding of user-centered design and accessibility among both designers and developers, resulting in better end products for users.

🔀 Improved collaboration and closer communication between design and development teams, leading to faster development cycles and more efficient workflows.

🚀 A more effective development environment where design decisions were centralized and quickly adaptable, boosting productivity across the team.

Application & Case Managment Systems

This project focused on developing and enhancing Enova's application and case management system for financial instruments. The goal was to create a user-friendly system that could efficiently handle applications and provide caseworkers with a better tool for managing the process.

Project Description and Execution:

In my role as lead designer, I worked closely with 12 developers from Bekk and process owners from Enova. Using service design methodology, I explored system capabilities and conducted user interviews with both applicants and caseworkers. I analyzed user patterns with Siteimprove and visualized insights for internal communication with the team and management. I created high-resolution design solutions and collaborated closely with developers to implement these designs in the system. Additionally, I improved the collaboration process between designers and developers by introducing an OST model for product strategy.

Achievements:

🪄 Enhanced navigation for users within the systems.

💫 More modern, intuitive, and universally designed systems utilizing components and patterns from the new design system.

🍾 Reduced application processing time and improvement of the application and case management process by eliminating bottlenecks.

🪢 Identified major issues for management consideration.

Bachelor Project - Kristiania University

My bachelor project in service design was a collaborative project with Lovisenberg Diaconal Hospital. Together with another student, I was tasked with identifying pain points and improving patient flow within the hospital. We focused particularly on how patients navigated the hospital’s complex building layout and experienced the signage, aiming to reduce confusion and minimize reliance on staff for guidance.

Project Description and Execution:

To identify and understand the challenges, I conducted an in-depth insights gathering process through observations, interviews with patients and staff, and the collection of quantitative data on the building layout. The insights were shared with hospital management and formed the foundation for multiple workshops—both insight and ideation workshops—with staff and user representatives. I led the design process to develop a new signage system focusing on universal design and easy maintenance. By studying best practices in wayfinding and signage, I created solutions that met both user and hospital needs.

Achievements:

The project resulted in a new signage strategy that is tailored for universal accessibility and easier maintenance. The new solution has improved patient navigation through the use of color coding and graphical enhancements, ensuring quicker and more precise guidance without relying on staff. The hospital has started implementing our solution as a strategic measure to improve patient flow.
